PassScholar Patrol Ahead
Where: On any road, especially in areas near schools, school entrances, or pedestrian crossings frequently used by children.
Purpose: To warn drivers that a scholar patrol (student crossing monitors) is operating ahead. Scholar patrols are typically students who help their peers cross the road safely under the supervision of school staff. The sign serves to alert drivers to be extra cautious, as children may be crossing the road at any time.
Action Required by Driver: Reduce your speed and be prepared to stop. Watch carefully for the scholar patrol displaying a stop sign or using hand signals to control traffic. Always be vigilant for children who may unexpectedly step onto the road. Do not overtake vehicles that are stopped for the scholar patrol, as children may be crossing in front or behind them. Pay extra attention during school start and end times, as well as lunch breaks, when pedestrian traffic is higher.
